About the artist
My Story
For me, art has never been just about creating a painting. It is about noticing the beauty in a moment and finding a way to hold onto it.
My love for art began in childhood and eventually led me to study Art Education and become a teacher. Life later took me in different directions, especially after becoming a mother, and painting became something I had to set aside for a while. Years later, my son’s curiosity and excitement about art brought me back to my brushes. That moment reminded me how much creating had always meant to me.
Today, I find inspiration everywhere—in the changing colors of New England, a quiet lake, sunlight through the trees, a familiar face, or a fleeting moment that catches my eye. I often begin with a photograph or an observation, then allow the painting to evolve into something more personal. I work with oil, acrylic, and watercolor, choosing the medium that best expresses the feeling I want to capture.
My Indian heritage and my life in New England also shape the way I see and create. I am drawn to the richness of color, the beauty of nature, the feeling of home, and the stories that connect people and places.
Blissful Strokes is a reflection of this journey. It is my space to share what I see, what I feel, and what inspires me—one brushstroke and one captured moment at a time.
